The Stadshaven housing project is the first of a number of planned developments on the west side of the canal basin in Hasselt. The site is intended to connect Hasselt city centre with the new Blauwe Boulevard quarter. A joint venture comprising Kumpen and Democo built 62 luxury apartments and six shopping units on the site, with Machiels Building Solutions adding the top storeys using timber-frame construction.
